Turkish Airlines traffic and load factors rise in March, filings show

Turkish Airlines reported strong traffic growth in March, with both passenger volumes and load factors rising, according to filings with Public Disclosure Platform.

The carrier transported 7.2 million passengers in the month, up 16% year-on-year, supported by continued strength in international markets. International passenger numbers rose 13.6% to 4.7 million, while domestic traffic increased 20.7% to 2.5 million.

Load factors improved across both segments, rising 6.1 percentage points to 83.6%. International load factor reached 83.7%, while domestic load factor climbed to 82.3%.

Capacity growth remained more moderate, with available seat kilometres increasing 8.7% to 22.8 billion, indicating stronger demand relative to supply. Cargo and mail volumes also increased, rising 8.8% year-on-year to 198,300 tonnes.

Fleet expansion continued, with Turkish Airlines operating 528 aircraft at the end of March, up 11.9% from a year earlier. For the first quarter, the airline carried 21.3 million passengers, an increase of 12.7%, with international traffic rising 13.1% to 14.2 million and domestic traffic up 11.9% to 7.1 million.
