The Russian aviation regulator has approved Transaero Airline to operate scheduled flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Rome and Milan.
Although it requested 14 flights per week, the airline has been cleared to fly seven times a week from Moscow to each destination.
From St Petersburg, the airline will fly to the Italian cities three times a week.
