Syria’s flag carrier Syrian Air has restarted direct flights between Damascus and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Operations were reinstated between the two countries on April 20, 2025, with services to Dubai and Sharjah. Flights operated by the airline to Abu Dhabi commenced on April 22, 2025.
Syrian Air has not flown to the UAE for around three months, after Syria’s former leader Bashar al-Assad was ousted in December 2024.
This resumption comes days after the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced that flights could resume between the UAE and Syria.
Currently no UAE-based airlines have announced plans to fly to Syria.
