Lufthansa has cancelled 1,350 flights for today and tomorrow following the ninth walkout of its pilots this year. The cancellations will affect 150,000 passengers and cost another multi-million euro bill for the cash-strapped airlines.
The two day strike by Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) started at midday today. It was caused after talks over an early retirement scheme for pilots broke down again last week.
