Singapore Airlines has confirmed an incident reported in January that the crew of one of its A380s detected the smell of smoke in a toilet just before landing safely in Singapore.
A Singapore Airlines spokesman said its A380 aircraft was coming from Hong Kong when crew members noticed the smell while the plane approached Singapore.
After the landing, engineers detected 'burning marks on the wiring' below the toilet, he said, adding that no smoke or fire was to be seen during the incident.
