Despite objections from some Treasury officials, the South African Government is preparing to reappoint South African Airlines (SAA) chair Dudu Myeni. The reappointment is unpopular since concerns were raised by the then finance minister Nhlanhla Nene over how a deal with Airbus was managed and amid rumours of an affair with the South African president.
SAA is still yet to submit financial statements for the past two years and continues to rely on state guarantees.
