Qatar Airways to restart operations to Malta following almost five-year hiatus

Qatar Airways will resume operations to Malta during the summer period of 2025, the airline confirmed.

Commencing on July 2, 2025, the carrier will operate four weekly flights between Doha and Malta.

Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group chief executive officer, noted the two countries “staunch” economic ties, with the return of operations strengthening Qatar’s relationship with Malta further.

The airline suspended operations to Malta in late 2020, as low demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which made the route commercially unviable.

Flights to Malta will be operated by the airline's A320 aircraft.
