Qantas has declared its proposed $2 billion in cuts as non-negotiable but chief executive Alan Joyce is reported to have refused to tell ACTU secretary Dave Oliver and aviation union leaders where the 1000 job cuts will be made.
All Joyce would confirm is that Qantas would retain the bulk of its operations in Australia and will seek to protect Australian jobs.
