New data shows that during the upcoming Easter weekend; 11,282 flights are scheduled to depart from UK airports – equating to over two million seats.
The data, posted by Cirium, shows that April 18, 2025, is set to be the busiest day over the bank holiday weekend with 2,949 flights taking off from UK airports.
Despite departures being down 4% compared to the Easter weekend of 2019, when there were 11,743 departing flights, departures are up 6% compared to the same period of 2024, showing continued post-pandemic recovery within the industry.
The most popular international destination for UK departures will be Dublin, followed by Amsterdam, Malaga, Alicante and Palma.
Heathrow Airport will see the largest number of departures, 2,680, followed by Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted.
