US President Barack Obama intends to nominate Peter Neffenger, the vice commandant of the US Coast Guard, to be the next head of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Neffenger would replace John Pistole, who retired as TSA administrator at the end of 2014. Melvin Caraway has been acting TSA administrator since January 1. Neffenger must be confirmed by the US Senate.
