Lufthansa has sold four A340-300s to Deucalion Capital. Despite the documented difficulties with the A340, A340-300s remain an easily transferable asset due to their CFMi engines and the ability to release value in the same.
Although Lufthansa has sold some A340-300s, it has sufficient A340-300s remaining to fleet out its new low cost arm, which is still in development.
