Jet2 has opened a new multi-million-pound aircraft maintenance hangar at Manchester Airport, aimed at boosting operational efficiency and supporting its long-term growth strategy.
The 6,300 square metre facility, built on the site of a previous hangar that was demolished and rebuilt in partnership with technical construction firm TSL, took exactly one year to complete.
It is located adjacent to the airline’s existing hangar at the airport and will allow engineering teams to work on up to three aircraft simultaneously. Across both hangars, maintenance can now be performed on up to six aircraft at once.
The facility also includes a dedicated apprentice training suite with workshops and classrooms, supporting more than 30 engineering apprentices currently employed by the airline.
