Irish prime minister Micheal Martin has emphasised the significance of the Irish aviation sector's investments in the US, during an annual St Patricks Day meeting at the White House.
During a meeting with President Trump in the oval office, the stated how Irish-based companies such as Ryanair and AerCap have made huge investments in Boeing over the last several years.
He highlighted to the US president that AerCap is one of the biggest buyers of Boeing jets outside of the US.
“Ryanair and AerCap buy more Boeing airplanes than anyone else outside of America, that is a little-known fact, but both companies have done great work with Boeing,” said Martin.
As of last month, Ryanair had a total fleet of 584 Boeing jets, with 300 737 MAX 10 aircraft currently on order.
AerCap had a total Boeing fleet made up of 654 aircraft, as of December 31, 2024.
