Hainan Airlines plans to launch a new subsidiary carrier, Fuzhou Airlines, to serve the South China market. It has signed a cooperation agreement with the Fujian provincial government to launch the airline but it needs approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China before creation.
The new subsidiary would compete with Xiamen Airlines, which holds a 50% on flights out of Fuzhou.
