UK newspaper The Sunday Times has reported that Lufthansa could close loss-making BMI if the sale to International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) is held up by European Union anti-trust authorities. Last week the competition regulator declared the concessions offered by IAG to buy BMI were “inadequate” and further investigations were needed.
Lufthansa however has stated that the deal is on track.
