Batik Air, subsidiary of Lion Air, has been issued with a flight permit by the Indonesian Transportation Ministry. The airline, which has been approved to fly 66 domestic routes and 20 international routes, must still wait for its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) before it can enter service, planned for March 2013.
Batik Air is intended to connect Jakarta, Medan, Denpasar, and Manado to major cities in ASEAN, East Asia, and Australia.
