British Airways 777 bound for London Gatwick caught fire on the runway in Las Vegas McCarran International Airport on Wednesday as the aircraft was taxiing to takeoff. All 172 passengers and crew escaped, with only several passengers reported to have suffered minor injuries.
According to preliminary reports, the aircraft’s left engine burst into flames on takeoff, which British Airways has described as “a technical difficulty”.
