An Azur Air Boeing 767-300 suffered significant belly damage during a tail strike incident in Vnukovo airport (VKO), Russia.
On approach to the airport on September 22, 200, the aircraft, arriving from Antalya, Turkey, the pilot reported wind shear on final approach resulting in a higher pitch angle that caused a tail strike on landing. A runway inspection showed that the pilots attempted to land the aircraft too near the runway threshold sustaining significant belly damage on the aft side of the aircraft fuselage.
