Air India is expected to report an operating profit of Rs 8-10 crore for fiscal year 2016, which will be the first time since it merged with Indian Airlines in 2007. Losses are expected to be limited to around Rs 2,600-2,800 crore compared to Rs 5,574.47 crore in the year-ago period. This has been aided by the fuel in fuel costs.
Air India’s revenues however are expected to remain flat as yields fall on both domestic and international routes by 9-10% due to lower ticket prices.
