AerCap signs 71 lease agreements during the second quarter

AerCap signed 71 lease agreements during the second quarter of the year, including eight widebody aircraft, 32 narrowbodies, 13 engines and 18 helicopters.

The lessor also completed 21 purchases: these consisted of 11 aircraft, including three A320neo family aircraft, five 737 MAXs, and three Embraer E195-E2s for AerCap's owned portfolio. These purchases also included five engines and five helicopters.

During the quarter, AerCap finalised 24 sale transactions for 14 aircraft — nine A320 family aircraft, one A320neo family jet, one 767-300ER, and one Embraer E190 — from AerCap's owned aircraft portfolio, along with two aircraft from AerCap's managed aircraft portfolio

Transactions during the period also included six engines and four helicopters.

Notably during the second quarter, AerCap was awarded approximately $1bn from the war risks insurers of its contingent and possessed insurance policy by the London Commercial Court in respect of its assets lost in Russia following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

AerCap repurchased approximately 4.7 million shares during the three-month period, at an average price of $94.03 per share, for a total of approximately $445 million, while declaring a quarterly cash dividend on ordinary shares of $0.27 per share.
