AAR and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) have completed the formation of xCelle Asia, after receiving regulatory approval for the joint venture.

Located in Chonburi, Thailand, xCelle Asia will provide nacelle MRO services for next-generation aircraft and engines.

Licensed by multiple OEMs, xCelle Asia will offer on-wing and on-site inspections and rotable support.

Initially, it will cover the GEnx, Trent1000, and LEAP-1A/1B engine types, though other aircraft and engine types will be added in future.

“This joint venture markedly expands our service offerings in the Asia-Pacific region and furthers our ability to deliver high-quality, industry-leading solutions to our customers,” said Jim Berberet, SVP of component services at AAR.

“We are looking forward to replicating our current success in the Americas by combining the experience of AAR’s highly-regarded component services team in Thailand with AFI KLM E&M’s global network.”

xCelle Americas, a similar joint venture between AAR and AFI KLM E&M, was launched in 2021. xCelle Americas is now based in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at a facility that was originally part of the Triumph Group's product support business, which AAR acquired in 2024.
