Following Delta Air Lines approval for a one year waiver on flights between Detroit and Tokyo following devastations caused by the Japanese earthquake, American Airlines has asked the US Department of Transportation for parity.
The DOT ruled that "in light of extraordinary circumstances" Delta would be allowed to delay the route until no later than 01 June 2012.
