Vietnam Airlines has agreed for the Viet Flight Training JSC (VFT) to train 60 pilots between 2010 and 2012.
The pilots will be trained for 72 weeks in both Vietnam and France. The contract should mean that technology for basic pilot training is transferred to Vietnam by the end of 2012.
Nguyen Sy Hung, chairman of the board of the Vietnam Airlines Corp, said the contract would help the national flag carrier cut training costs and make the airline more competitive.
