Indonesian state-owned energy company Pertamina has ruled that it will only supply jet fuel to Merpati Nusantara Airlines if it pays in cash. Merpati has twice breached its maximum debt limit allowed by Pertamina and now owes 165 billion rupiah ($13.5 million) to the company. The move by Pertamina questions whether the airline can remain operational.
