MAAS Aviation has signed a multi-year contract renewal with easyJet, extending the company’s aircraft painting and exterior coatings partnership with the low-cost carrier.
The renewed contract, which runs from the 2025/26 season, will see the specialist MRO repaint all of easyJet’s fleet of A320 family aircraft at its Maastricht facility in the Netherlands.
Richard Marston, CCO at MAAS, said the two companies have established a “strong and transparent” partnership with regular contact to ensure alignment of working procedures.
“This allows us to deliver superior standards of painting whilst maintaining rapid turnaround times,” he said.
Sophie Michelson, aircraft appearance manager at easyJet, said that MAAS continues to demonstrate the “highest standards” of exterior paint application and finish.
Originally purpose-built by MAAS in 1998, the paint shop at Maastricht Aachen Airport was modernised and expanded in 2017 with a full system upgrade in the existing hangar and the design and build of a second hangar.
“The state-of-the-art facility features two fully lined, climate-controlled paint shops, with computerised building management systems, datalogging and high-lux lighting,” said Marston.
The Dutch facility is a twin-bay paint shop capable of accommodating up to B767/A300-sized aircraft.
MAAS operates 13 paint shops for narrowbody and regional aircraft, and is capable of handling up to 580 aircraft per year. In addition to the Netherlands, its other facilities are located in Germany, Lithuania, and the US.
