LOT Polish Airlines has begun internet access on its long-haul fleet. The service is currently available on one 787 Dreamliner, with two more to be equipped with the service by the end of April.
The solution is supplied by Viasat's next-generation solution, Viasat Amara.
“We wanted a solution that would ensure stability and high quality, which is why we chose a partner with well-established experience in aviation, whose technology is used by airlines around the world,” LOT Polish Airlines director, product development and customer experience officer Izabela Leszczynska said.
The solution will be available in two paid packages: one allowing instant messaging and a more expensive streaming package. Access is complimentary to business class passengers and Miles & More members from select airlines under certain statuses.
