The European Parliament's Budgets Committee has approved an application from Ireland for funding for the 850 workers made redundant by ST Technics Ireland.
The EU funds, estimated at €7,445,863, still need final approval by the full Parliament and the Council of Ministers. The package of aims to help the most disadvantaged workers get back into employment by offering them with guidance and training.
