Edinburgh Airport carries record 17mln passengers in 2025

Edinburgh Airport has carried 16.98 million passengers in 2025 — a record year not only for the airport but also for airports in Scotland.

The growth was supported by new routes introduced during the year. These include Air Canada's Montreal route, JetBlue's summer service to Boston, American Airline's returning its summer service to Philadelphia, and Hainan Airlines' year-round route to Beijing. Additionally, British low-cost carrier easyJet introduced 10 new routes from the Scottish capital.

“The past year has been a strong one for Edinburgh Airport, reflecting the continued appetite for travel and tourism, both to and from Scotland, with new European and transatlantic routes further strengthening our connectivity,” said Edinburgh Airport CEO Gordon Dewar.

For 2026, American Airlines is adding New York to its destinations, as well as extending its Philadelphia service into the winter season, as well as Luxair entering the Scottish market with its seasonal route to Luxembourg.
