ATR appoints Damien Proust as SVP engineering

ATR has appointed Damien Proust as SVP engineering and head of design organisation at ATR, effective May 1, 2026.

Proust will report directly to the OEM's CEO Nathalie Tarnaud Laude. He succeeds Daniel Cuchet, who is moving to Airbus to take over the position of chief engineer for the A380 and A310/300 in-service aircraft, as well as head of legacy programmes.

Prior to joining ATR, Proust has held several senior positions at Airbus, bringing over two decades of engineering and leadership experience.

Since 2018, he has served as VP, head of propulsion airframe at Airbus. In this role, he oversaw research, development, production and in-service support activities for pylons and nacelles across all aircraft programmes.

His previous roles include leadership positions within the A350 programme, covering fuselage and empennage engineering, as well as airframe integration.
