ZAMBIAN AIRWAYS $2 MILLION DEBT BATTLE

The National Airports Corporation (NAC) of Zambia has rejected a proposal by Zambian Airways to settle outside of court the debt of US$2 million that the defunct airline owes the corporation. NAC managing director Robinson Misitala told the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC) yesterday that Zambian Airways has only been proposing that the matter be settled out of court without giving an offer. Currently the matter is in the Supreme Court after Zambian Airways appealed against the High Court ruling that the defunct airline should pay the US$2million debt with interest.
