Media reports are circulating that Norwegian Air International, the Irish based subsidiary of Norwegian Air, has reached an agreement with Shannon Airport to potentially launch transatlantic flights once, and if, the airline gains approval from the US Department of Transportation. The airline has a similar deal on the table with Cork Airport. Norwegian wants to fly four times a week from Cork to Boston but has been unable to convince the DOT. Should the airline be granted rights to fly to the US, Shannon Airports offers passengers the opportunity to use the US Custom and Border Protection pre-clearance. A Shannon
