ITA Airways has approved a salary adjustment in favour of its employees which it said would take the arrangement back to pre-pandemic levels. The carrier, which looks set to be bought by Lufthansa Group, said the wage deal was “a necessary step for the company to seize the opportunities for market growth”. In early February, unions threatened that the carrier’s employees could go on strike if management delayed agreeing a deal on salaries. Details of the salary adjustment were not announced by the airline.
