IndiGo recently reached a milestone of 1,900 flights a day coinciding with its 17th anniversary celebrations. The figure clearly reflects IndiGo’s hold over India’s domestic market with monopoly flights on most of the existing routes. Not only is IndiGo aggressively present on all major routes, but many of its existing routes are also monopoly flights. Chandigarh-Jaipur, Delhi-Kanpur, Bareilly-Bengaluru, Pune-Chennai, Hyderabad-Guwahati, and Bengaluru-Madurai are just some of the examples where no other airlines are competes with IndiGo for scheduled services.
