Lithuanian Airports reports doubling of passenger traffic in 2022

Combined passenger traffic through Kaunas, Palanga and Vilnius airports doubled to 5.35 million in 2022, according to Lithuanian Airports. The three hubs overcame a “slow start” to the year to operate almost 51,000 flights, nearly 48% more than the previous year, with overall traffic bouncing back to 80% of pre-pandemic levels. “We have clearly seen that the growth potential and willingness to travel was not diminished by the challenges of the pandemic, and in many cases on the contrary – we have even seen an increased willingness to travel, which continues to this day,” said Tomas Zitikis, head of route
