Leonardo announces sale of six AW139s to THC

The Helicopter Company (THC), a Saudi Arabian operator, is to add at least six Leonardo AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters to its fleet, which carries out reinforce search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical and corporate transport. THC could add a further 20 AW139s, the Italian manufacturer said, which would take its fleet of the choppers to nearly 50. Almost 1,300 orders have been placed for the AW139 since it was certified in 2004, with 1130 of the model in operation, including 170 across the Middle East.
