Italian helicopter manufacturer Leonardo has announced the placing of an order for six Aw139s by Mitsui Bussan Aerospace (MBA). The order by MBA will take Leonardo to nearly 70 Aw139s in operation in Japan,with orders for two each placed  by the Japanese coast guard and the national police and three to be delivered in 2024 for fire-fighting and disaster relief in Ishikawa prefecture. Tokyo-based MBA, a licenced distributor for Leonardo, is a trading company that specialises in aerospace, defence, and security systems, importing and selling helicopters, aircraft, space, defence, and security-related equipment.
