Ireland’s main airport paused flights for a time on February 4 after “two confirmed drone sightings on the airfield”. Explaining the suspension, the Dublin Airport Authority said “safety and security” for airport users was a priority. “It is illegal to fly drones within 5km of the airport,” the authority said. Ryanair said it wanted Ireland’s transport minister Eamon Ryan to “step up and take action” after eight of its flights were “disrupted” by the drones.
