A Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300, Flight CX-251from Hong Kong to London Heathrow was forced to divert to Amsterdam and make an emergency landing after the crew had reported a fire in the cabin. The fire was extinguished while the aircraft descended towards Amsterdam although smoke remained in the galley. The aircraft landed safety in Amsterdam and taxied to the apron where it was met by emergency services. The flight departed Amsterdam after about three hours on the ground.
