While Christmas 2022 departures from UK airports were set to be 14% below 2019, numbers will be up by a third on 2021, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium. Almost 31,000 flights were scheduled to take off from British airports between December 21 to January 4, which according to Cirium equates to over 5.5 million seats.
