Hong Kong Airport records 2.1 million passengers in January 2023

Hong Kong Airport passenger traffic has shown a strong recovery in January 2023 with almost 28% Year-On-Year (Y-O-Y) rise. The Airport Authority Hong Kong recently released air traffic figures of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for January 2023. The data reveals that KHIA registered around 2.1 million passengers in January 2023, with over 80,000 passengers daily at peak, representing around 40% of pre-pandemic levels. Flight movements saw a year-on-year increase of 34.9% to 16,215, while cargo throughput dropped 26.4% to 288,000 tonnes compared to the same month last year.
