Hong Kong airport recently inaugurated its 3,800m long third runway as a part of an $18.2bn expansion plan. The construction work started in August 2016 and reclaimed over 650 hectares of land. This expansion is a part of the Terminal 2 expansion project with a new concourse, baggage handling system, and automated people mover system scheduled for completion in 2024, on time and within budget.
