Construction and infrastructure company Granite has been granted a US$174 million contract by the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles World Airports to provide four new taxiways and rebuild sections of two runways at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The runways will have to be closed sequentially while the work is being done, Granite said.
