British Airways (BA) pilots have voted in favour of strike action over pay. The British Airline Pilots’ Association (Balpa) said 93% of its members had voted in the ballot, which took place 22 July, in favour of industrial action. The earliest that a stoppage could begin is 5 August, strike action is set to cause severe delays over the key summer holiday period. Balpa represents about 90% of the airline’s pilots. In a statement , BA said it was “very disappointed” that the union was threatening “the travel plans of thousands of our customers”. British Airways said it remained open
