Viasat buys Inmarsat

Viasat, a global communications company, and Inmarsat, which provides global mobile satellite communications services, have entered into a definitive agreement under which Viasat will acquire Inmarsat for $7.3 billion. The combination will create a global communications innovator with enhanced scale and scope.
