NATS, the UK’s leading provider of air traffic services and solutions, is the first operator in the country to have future proofed its radar against interference from the 4G mobile network. The work to modify its systems means the higher band 4G mobile spectrum, which was recently auctioned by telecom regulator Ofcom ahead of a full roll-out in 2014, will not cause interference to the radar signals NATS uses to control aircraft in UK skies.
