Pratt & Whitney has received a Validation of Supplemental Type Certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China for its Global Material Solution parts. The GMS program provides life-limited parts for the CFM56-3 engine. Xu Chaoqun, deputy of the airworthiness department at the CAAC said: “The Pratt & Whitney GMS program offers competitive choices for airlines to reduce maintenance costs with technology from a respected OEM.
