The team at Cobham has secured an unnamed launch customer for its new, high performance and long-life Air Separation Module (ASM) for 737 Next Generation (NG) commercial airlines. The ASM uses hollow fiber membranes to generate nitrogen to inert – or render safe from fire – aircraft fuel tanks by creating an atmosphere where fires cannot exist due to insufficient oxygen.
