The eighth Airshow China, which starts today, is being held in Zhuhai, a seaside city adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao. This event demonstrates that China is making good on its promise to build its own aviation industry when the event was first launched in 1996. Beijing International Airport has overtaken London Heathrow as the world’s second-busiest airport, while Chinese aircraft manufacturer Comac is expected to announce a bevy of orders at the airshow.
