Air Canada and American Airlines are testing the “tag your own bag” system being piloted at Boston’s Logan Airport. Under the system, passengers are allowed to print out their own baggage tag and affix it to their own bag. Even though the passenger prints their own ticket, airline employees will still need to check the details, which contradicts the idea that the system will cut down waiting times. Although the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) initially objected to the idea, through concession by the airlines, it has now met those concerns, they say.
