A wing of the UK’s aviation regulator has been appointed to head up a European Union project looking into the “impact of aviation security measures on aviation safety and vice versa”. CAAi, a division of the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority, is part of a consortium with French business APAVE Aeroservices and Switzerland’s Centre for Adaptive Security Research and Applications (CAPSA) that was last month awarded a three-year European Union Aviation Safety Agency contract.
